J&K Police Railway Wing Conducts One-Day Training Programme on NDPS Law | KNO

Enabling better investigation skills and understanding of legal provisions under the NDPS Act

Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNO): One-Day Training Programme on the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Investigation Procedures was organised today by the Railway Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the programme was conducted in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Srinagar Unit and Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch Kashmir. Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Station House Officers (SHOs), Duty Officers (DOs), and other Investigation Officers of Railway Police Kashmir attended the program. Enhancing the legal knowledge and strengthening the investigative skills of Investigation Officers dealing with cases under the NDPS Act was the main agenda of this program. Procedural compliance, effective investigation techniques, and the importance of professional excellence in the enforcement of narcotics laws were some of the highlights of the program. Practical insights and expertise shared by the resource persons from the NCB, Srinagar Unit and ANTF of the Crime Branch provided hands on learning experience to the participants. Participants said that such training programmes will prove to be highly educative and constructive, enabling officers to develop better investigation skills and a clearer understanding of legal provisions under the NDPS Act. Officials said that initiatives of this nature reaffirm the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police to capacity building and effective enforcement against narcotics-related crimes—(KNO)
